It’s US-friendly and it runs on Android Devices: offers real money Skill Poker in 28 States plus Canada (Screenshot taken from Samsung Galaxy Tab)

Online Poker in the US is legal again – at least that is what, a 2012 founded poker room, says of its new “Skill Poker” Software. At You and your Opponent face the same computer players at identical tables with the same cards. The one who makes the most out of his hands wins the money from his human opponent. The software is flash-based and Android-compatible. In our test, worked perfectly on a Samsung Galaxy Tab. If you’re living in Canada or one of the 28 US-States supported by, this is the real money Android Poker App you might have been waiting for. Players in Europe will have to wait for the real money games to be available (UPDATE: Real money Play is now available outside the US) – but you can already check out Skill Poker with play money.

The Poker variant that offers isn’t totally new. Under the name Duplicate Poker it was already played in 2007 according to wikipedia. A website offering Duplicate Poker closed down in 2008. However, Skillbet brings back the idea in a very innovative way and adds social components. You can sign in with your Facebook account and challenge your friends. As there are only two people competing each other, the risk of cheating is reduced to zero. Although the guys at Pokerfuse are not convinced that it is a 100% Skill Game (they argue, that there can still be short-term-luck), some law experts like Chuck Humphrey are sure that is legal: “It’s not poker… it is a game of skill… They’ve eliminated the element of chance,” Humphrey said in an Interview with the Denver Post. We at do not want to comment on the legal part. But we like a lot. Playing against a computer and comparing your play with your Opponent’s is fun. Less experienced players might also learn a lot about their play and improve their skills while playing at

A look at the Poker Lobby. There are Real Money and Practice Live games, as well as challenges.

If you want to play on your Android Device (or PC or Mac), simply register at may use Facebook or fill out a registration form). When logged in, you can click on Cashier if you want to make a deposit. Skillbet offers a 100% Bonus up to 100$ on your first deposit. A click on “Play now” opens the Lobby in a new Browser Tab. Look out for a Table with Status “Play now” to start instantly (or join an empty table and wait for an opponent). Double-Click on the status button and the table opens in a new tab. You and your Opponent play 30 hands. If you performed better than your opponent, he will pay you the difference between the two stacks – if you lose the comparison, you pay. During the minimum required 30 hands you cannot win or lose more than your Buy-in.

An alternative to the live games available at the Lobby are the challenges, where you play the 30 hands first and see the result when you opponent has finished the 30 hands as well. You can even challenge people who have not yet signed up at Invite your friends via Facebook or eMail and skillbet pays 10$ to the winner.
