PokerStars Beat the Clock – new tournament variant killed after 10 months

Update September 2017: Less then a year after launching it, Pokerstars has removed the new game format Beat the Clock from both, the App and the desktop client. Beat the Clock started off with a solid playerbase, but the number of players constantly declined. In the mid of September 2017, the tournament variant was finally removed from desktop client and app. In an official statement PokerStars stated that the reason for removing Beat the Clock was to focus on other products in the future.

Original Post: The market leader PokerStars (click here to go to the poker room) introduced a new tournament variant in November 2016: PokerStars Beat the Clock brings fast action and is especially interesting for players who only have a few minutes to play. That’s because all tournaments end after five minutes, no matter the score. Both, new players as well as already registered players get the possibility to grab free tickets by taking part in a temporary promotion. Beat the Clock – also available for Android, iPhone and iPad

Obviously, a new poker variant for players who only have little time is predestined for the mobile usage. If you don’t use them within seven days your free tournament voucher expires. All prizes that you win at Beat the Clock tournaments are yours and you can withdraw them immediately.
