TerminalPoker closes and transfers players to PokerLoco

Are there any fans of TerminalPoker and the InstaDeal poker software among you? Then we’ve got bad news for you: TerminalPoker is closing on February 1st 2016. Elec Games, the company behind the mobile poker app, has informed its players and business partners about the short-term closure. However, players don’t have to worry about their moyney. All accounts and funds will be migrated to PokerLoco, a poker room in the Microgaming network.

The official announcement (see Screenshot above) states the decline in the poker market as well as the challenges with operating a poker network as the main reasons for the closure. In another mail that was sent to business partners, Elec Games pointed out: “We are shutting things down in an orderly manner where all […] funds are safe.” Players now have the choice to cash out before February or have their funds migrated to PokerLoco.

TerminalPoker and the InstaDeal network were among the pioneers in mobile poker. From the very beginnin, TerminalPoker put all of the active players into one player pool. As soon as a player folds his hand he is placed at a new table. This makes it possible to play lots of hands per hour without the need to play at multiple tables at a time. Meanwhile, this poker variant is established as Fast Fold Poker. Most of the major poker rooms offer fast fold games today – and the additional competition made it harder and harder for TerminalPoker to attract players. The closure of the entire poker room now is the final step for TerminalPoker. Elec Games, however, will continue to operate as a software provider and online casino operator.

Getting old: The InstaDeal software struggled to attract new players lately.

We will take a close look at PokerLoco in the next couple of days and will come back to you with a full review of the fairly unknown poker room. UPDATE February 11th: We have tried to contact the people behind PokerLoco several times – without success. This is a pretty bad sign und we therefore decided to NOT RECOMMEND PokerLoco to you.
