WSOP 2016: Qui Nguyen wins the Main Event

Qui Nguyen is the winner of the 2016 WSOP Main Event. The new champion, who started the last day of the November Nine as chip-leader, won more that $8.000,000 in price money when he decided the final hand against runner-up Gordon Vayo.

In the final hand of the day, Nguyen held K10s and dominated Gordon Vayo’s J10s. The 39 year-old Nguyen lives in Las Vegas. Before the start of the WSOP Main Event, he had only one WSOP cash-in and a career total of $52,000 in live poker earnings. The final table with a guranteed $1.000,000 already was a big success for Nguyen. On the final day, it took more than 8 hours of heads-up poker until the new champion was determined. Gordon Vayo was an extremly hard opponent and earned $4,6 Million for his strong perfomance. The third place goes to Cliff Josephy, who travelled to the November Nine as chip leader and won $3,4.
